Meet Bailey

Hi! I’m Bailey.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and my master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University. My engineering education means I am skilled in problem solving; to me this means collaborating with others to investigate why something may not be working the way we think it should, designing solutions, and then assessing those solutions based on results and feedback.

I owe a lot of my learning about animal behavior in the beginning of my journey to my dog Macklin. Macklin was picked up as a stray, brought into the local shelter, then transferred to a rescue where we eventually met and adopted him. In the height of the pandemic, we were so excited to welcome a dog into our home. Inside, Macklin was cuddly, goofy, and playful. Outside, Macklin struggled with all of the daily happenings of downtown life - people, dogs, and trucks. I was overwhelmed and unsure what to do. After a few mistakes along the way, I was lucky enough to meet some incredible behavior professionals that helped me interpret what Macklin was feeling and understand how I could help him. If you have a reactive dog or a dog struggling with any type of behavior challenge, I understand how overwhelming, scary, frustrating, and tiring it can be.

Since then, I’ve dedicated time to learning more about animal behavior, behavior in sheltering, and more. I am committed to continuing education and implementing solutions that do not use pain or fear to change your pet’s behavior. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your pet.
